, ,Our client, Trail Ridge Power (TRP), works with national commercial and industrial real estate partners to create portfolio-wide energy transition solutions for their sustainability needs. They originate, design, develop, finance, own and operate renewable energy assets on a stand-alone basis but also in conjunction with energy efficiency technologies to help their partners reach net-zero-carbon goals. These assets include solar generation, battery storage, fuel cells, building controls, and other cleantech offerings to provide on-premises or local generation solutions as well as load control and curtailment. At Trail Ridge Power, the future of renewables is not just rooftop solar but looking at generation and consumption as inherently interconnected.
The Asset Manager will report to the Vice President of Asset Management and will have primary responsibility for administration of all contracts, analytics, optimization, reporting and operations and maintenance (O&M) for the Trail Ridge Power fleet of projects consisting of solar energy, battery energy storage, energy efficiency and related controls, and electric vehicle charging systems.
This role requires travel (up to ~50%) to client sites and/or partner meetings.
You Will:
- Oversee day-to-day asset operations, including O&M contract performance and preventative maintenance
- Monitor asset performance through data platforms and ensure corrective actions are implemented for downtime or production shortfalls
- Manage budgets, track operating expenses, and support financial forecasting for assigned assets
- Prepare and deliver regular performance reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure all project obligations are met under PPAs, interconnection agreements, leases, and financing requirements
- Recommend and implement performance improvements and cost optimizations across the DG portfolio
- Coordinate with accounting and finance teams on monthly reporting, invoicing, and cash flow management
- Support development and construction teams by providing operational feedback and lessons learned
- Maintain organized records of all operating contracts, compliance documents, and project data analytics
- Travel for site visits or partner meetings as needed up to 50% of the time
You Are:
- A proactive, detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience managing operating solar projects
- Skilled at building strong relationships with O&M providers, utilities, and subscription managers
- Comfortable reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with all commercial, technical, and regulatory requirements
- Knowledgeable in solar production metrics, system monitoring, and root-cause analysis for underperformance
- Collaborative and capable of coordinating across teams in engineering, finance, and development to optimize portfolio value
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or economics (master’s degree preferred)
- P&L management experience operating assets
- 3 to 5 years of experience in solar asset management, O&M, or project operations, preferably in distributed generation or community solar.
- Strong understanding of solar plant performance, monitoring systems, and key drivers of generation.
- Experience managing third-party O&M contracts and tracking performance KPIs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and asset management or monitoring platforms (e.g., Power Factors, Radian, Also Energy, or similar)
