We are looking for a Program Coordinator for our teen internship program with a proven track record in leading initiatives that inspire and motivate teens to become future leaders. Ed Inquiry’s Head of the Class Teen Leadership Program offers high school students the opportunity to earn while they learn by assisting instructors in our virtual classrooms. The goal of the program is to provide high school students with work experience and exposure to the field of K-12 education as a future career possibility.

Furthermore, the Teen Leadership program offers many opportunities for teens to develop leadership skills outside of the classrooms assigned.

The Teen Leadership Program Coordinator must be a self-starter, able to lead through student-centric strategies, capable of inspiring teens to become lifelong learners and team players.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support approximately 50 or more highly motivated teen interns to succeed in their role as virtual teaching assistants in Ed Inquiry’s virtual classroom.
  • Be well versed in multicultural team work and be comfortable working within an inclusive and diverse virtual group of interns.
  • Manage the teen intern process from recruitment to off-boarding, including obtaining required paperwork for employment (work permits) in order to ensure a smooth start of their summer placement.
  • Communicate with staff and instructors to ensure clear understanding of how the interns are performing and how to further support them for their success.
  • Plan and lead orientation and weekly workshops to prepare teens to fulfill their responsibilities. This includes:
  • Providing leadership training and tools
  • Coordinating with instructional leaders to ensure Teens are aligned with instructional content.
  • Coordinating with the tech team to ensure Teens are trained on any tech tools needed for their job responsibilities.
  • Manage teens’ schedules and ensure timely submission of their timesheets for payroll processing.
  • Oversee weekly Teen Leaders’ meetings.
  • Able to build strong relationships and rapport with the teen interns, in order to create a positive work experience.

 

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Experience leading youth-serving programs.
  • Ability and commitment to build relationships with youth of diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Experience designing and implementing systems and processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast changing environment.

 

Working Environment

This position is a primarily virtual full time contract position with occasional in-person teen meetings held throughout the year in the Massachusetts area. Therefore, we can only consider applicants who reside in New England, preferably in the greater Boston area.
