We are seeking a Project Engineer reporting to the Director of Project Engineering to join our team. If you are an engineer with a passion for renewable energy and the desire to create something new, this could be the right opportunity for you!

This position is fully remote. Qualified applicants in the New York Metro Area or New Jersey are preferred. The company will consider remote applicants within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Contribute directly to design and engineering of renewable energy, and cleantech projects as well as managing third-party consulting engineers
•    Oversee contracted engineering firms as the “Owner’s engineer”
•    Enforce design and engineering equipment and construction standards
•    Collaborate with development and finance to assess potential projects’ feasibility and construction complexity
•    Oversee full project life cycle and work with engineering partners to develop preliminary engineering plans
•    Work with EPC’s and third-party engineers to develop final engineering plans to internal standards
•    Provide technical guidance and support on matters relating to solar technology, focusing on rooftop, ground-mounted fixed-tilt and single-axis tracker systems
•    Review project deliverables to ensure all local and national code, utility interconnection requirements, and client requests are met, along with SOW items per contract
•    Conduct, coordinate, and review energy production estimates using PVsyst and Helioscope
•    Travel for work up to 30% as needed and depending on home location

You Bring:
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; master’s degree preferred
•    At least 5+ years of energy system design experience with 3+ years designing C&I Rooftop Solar systems and small (1-10MW) ground-mount systems
•    Experience managing a large portfolio of projects while prioritizing effectively, managing competing expectations, and meeting deadlines
•    Experience with PV design tools including Helioscope, PVSyst, and AutoCAD
•    Proficient with Procore, project management, energy modeling, and MS Office programs
•    Experience with energy efficiency, CHP, fuel cells, or other carbon reduction technologies is preferred
•    A creative and entrepreneurial approach to solving energy/carbon use optimization problems
•    Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
•    Engineer in Training (EIT) in electrical, mechanical, or civil preferred
