Our client, Coastal Calibration Laboratories, is a customer-focused provider of calibration services to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries of the New England area. In laboratory and production contexts, the company calibrates a range of analytical and process devices, from pipettes to bioreactors. Calibration can be done on-site at their business or at their calibration lab.
The Role: The Operations Support Specialist position responds to customer requests, compiles metrics in support of quality objectives, and oversees subcontracted calibrations and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and improve systems to monitor the progress of metrics and communicate progress to associated employees
- Collect, analyze, and summarize quality objective data for management reviews
- Print worksheets for items received at Coastal Calibration Laboratories’ facility for calibration
- Print worksheets based on customer lists for on-site calibrations
- Accurately transfer handwritten data into computer software system to generate calibration certificates
- Print periodic reports from Excel and other Windows based programs
- Accurately analyze and record customer complaints and feedback
- Maintain and update calibration software
- Respond to customer requests in a timely manner
- Facilitate subcontracted calibrations and repairs of Coastal Calibration Laboratories and customer equipment
- Facilitate and track customer calibrations to be performed at Coastal Calibration Laboratories’ site
- Accurately execute relevant processes to established standards of quality
- Contribute to relative objectives by timely completion of related tasks, and suggestions for process improvements
- Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Adobe Microsoft Office suite
- Strong desire to proactively learn job related subjects not already known
- Able to type using the QWERTY method
- Demonstrate resourcefulness to develop temporary solutions when faced with a challenge
- Able to efficiently and effectively switch-task as priorities change
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient at ten-key data entry
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to see and read fine print and navigate to all areas of the office
- Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time and use repetitive wrist and hand motions
Compensation and Benefits:
- The anticipated hourly range for this position is between $27 - $34 per hour. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience, education, and other compensable factors.
