, ,The Company: Our client, Butler Automatic is the inventor of automatic splicing, and the largest global manufacturer of automatic web splicing equipment for food, pharmaceutical, printing and consumer packaged goods markets. The Company’s splicers are used to manufacture many different products including stand-up pouches, flexible pouches, film bags, paper bags, business forms, envelopes, disposable diapers, wallpaper, fiberglass insulation, and corrugated cardboard.
The Role: Our client, Butler Automatic is seeking a Mechanical Assembler that has previous mechanical experience in the assembly of capital equipment or shows mechanical aptitude from previous education/experience and willingness to learn. We will train you to build our products from initial assembly through completion, including packing and crating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble splicers and sub-assemblies according to procedures and work instructions
- Perform assembly utilizing a variety of hand/power tools, including screw drivers, wrenches, drills, hammers, tape measures, etc.
- Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
- Accurately complete job logging through Epicor to account for assembly times
- Operate overhead crane and other lifting mechanisms as necessary to perform the job safely and efficiently
- Verify that parts are free of flaws, defects or imperfections and properly write up parts that do not meet specifications
- Cross train in other areas as necessary to keep production running
- Maintain proper certifications such as crane and forklift
- Present high standards of quality and safety at all times
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Able to follow methods and procedures established for the assembly of Butler products
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Able to read and work from drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions
- Proficient at conversion of decimals to inches
- Know how to properly use crimpers, strippers, heat shrink guns, drills, taps, dial calipers and other misc. hand tools
- Capable of lifting 35 pounds
- Capable of standing on feet for an entire workday
- Able to climb and work from ladders
- Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety habits
