Trail Ridge Power (TRP) works with national commercial and industrial partners to create portfolio-wide energy transition solutions for their sustainability needs. We originate, design, develop, finance, own and operate renewable energy assets on a stand-alone basis but also in conjunction with energy efficiency technologies to help our partners reach their net-zero-carbon goals. These assets include solar PV generation, battery storage, fuel cells, building controls, and other cleantech offerings to provide on-premises or local generation solutions as well as a load control and curtailment. At Trail Ridge Power, the future of renewables is not just rooftop solar but looking at generation and consumption as inherently interconnected.

The Sr. Director of Asset Management will report to the EVP/Chief of Contracting and will have primary responsibility for administration of all contracts, analytics, optimization, reporting and operations and maintenance (O&M) for the Trail Ridge Power fleet of projects consisting of solar energy, battery energy storage, energy efficiency and related controls, and electric vehicle charging systems. This position is remote within the United States. Mid-Atlantic and Northeast proximity is preferred.

You Will:

  • Have an in-depth understanding of solar generation and factors that affect solar production enabling you to provide accurate reporting and manage corrective actions.
  • Be a forward leaning and proactive leader that possesses deep renewable energy O&M and solar power asset management expertise who is hands-on in management of contracts, identification of risk, and engagement with counterparties providing O&M services.
  • Be adept at tracking and managing multiple operating solar assets ensuring their optimal performance as well as compliance with all contractual, legal, regulatory, and programmatic requirements.
  • Ensure account consistency across all defined project regions and markets, configurations, and development requirements.
  • Recommend asset operational improvements and enhancement as well as work with the development team to pursue expansion opportunities.
  • Have technical knowledge and ability to identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues with system production.
  • Actively monitor, manage and report on asset downtime events and their causes.
  • Work with Trail Ridge business units to maximize project velocity and investment value while managing performance for assets across the company.
  • Manage project costs and asset operations to budget and to maximize project and enterprise value.
  • Highly experienced in community solar subscription contract management.
  • Work with Accounting & Finance and other business units to prepare and present regional financial performance results and forecasts from Trail Ridge’s operating assets, implement and maintain operating procedures to maintain safety, profitability, and consistency across regions and assets.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team on design standards, equipment and systematic issues with operating sites to improve future operational capability.
  • Develop and present project operating budgets.
  • Responsible for all asset related system integration, field services and specific commissioning services, O&M, commercial operations of operating assets, and analytics.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Economics or equivalent experience; Master's degree a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in solar renewable distributed generation, 10+ years of solar power asset management, and 5+ years energy efficiency (heat pumps, CHP) and related control systems.
  • P&L management experience on major accounts, territory, or corporate division.
  • Deep understanding of the measures of success and challenges in commercial, industrial, and real estate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client-facing skills, including demonstrated ability to discern varying complex corporate stakeholder needs and concerns.
  • Proficiency in asset management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel to meet with clients and their stakeholders up to 25% of the time.
