We are seeking an experienced Director of Development Program Management to join our team in a newly established role that will report to the head of Development. The Director of Development Program Management will coordinate processes across the company and with partners to complete pre-NTP project requirements and ensure design, permitting, financing, revenues and expenses, and risks are managed holistically to meet various stakeholders’ expectations. The Director will work with all internal TRP teams as well as real estate and industrial partners, tenants, third party service providers, and state and local authorities. 

This position requires a multi-disciplinary professional with extensive experience in the renewable energy industry and a proven track record of navigating the complexities of rapidly growing companies with multiple corporate-level partnerships. Qualified applicants within the NYC area or Boulder, CO are preferred. However, the company will consider remote applicants within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works cross functionally with sales, account managers, finance, engineering, project management, and asset management to maintain alignment and develop renewable energy projects that meet our partners’ site and portfolio needs (e.g., solar PV, battery storge, demand response, vehicle electrification, heat pumps, CHP, etc.)
  • Ensures all permits, incentives, state registrations and other project-level legal requirements are met to allow construction and operation
  • Coordinates with asset management to establish KPIs and reporting standards for asset(s) performance needed for internal, customer, and BOD distribution
  • Develops and oversees project plans and timelines from the early stages of development to the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Works closely with sales teams, account managers, site hosts, the contracting team, and external EPCs to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Tracks and updates the status of project development, reporting any progress and changes along the way

You Bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in project management, business administration or equivalent (master's degree preferred)
  • At least 5 years of in-depth experience with end-to-end renewable energy project development (origination through operations)
  • Experience with solar PV project development, preferably including behind-the-meter systems and PV coupled with battery energy storage
  • Experience developing energy efficiency projects via performance contracts is preferred
  • Attention to detail coupled with big-picture thinking
  • Zeal for pursuing new opportunities with problem solving and creativity to find appropriate solutions that meet many parties’ needs
  • Project and/or corporate finance underwriting experience is preferred
  • Strong project development, process development, and team-building skills. Experience working with cross-functional internal and external technical advisors and stakeholders
